I’m looking for advice on how to lubricate wood on wood drawer slides and what I could use for a bed that squeak’s so much that it wakes every one up? I’m guessing it’s the connection between the rails and headboard.
Any information would be appreciated, turtleboy

I had this problem, and it was from where the rails intersect the posts. Got some HMLV tape, very expensive but you need only a bit, and put it onto the end of the rail. Compelte quiet was the result. Good luck. (p.s. - Can't recall where I got it, but know it was mail-order.)
Bed bolts with captured nuts do a great job of eliminating squeeks originating between the headboard/footboard and side rails, if your design allows their use.
To "lubricate" wood on wood drawers, I cheat and use a short (1" or so) piece of UHMW tape on the bottom of the drawers at the back, and at the front of the rail the drawers slides on. Using two pieces like this keeps the drawer level, and provides ultra smooth sliding action throughout the whole range of motion. An added benefit is that it also prevents further wear on the wood.
I recently bought a beautiful 100 year old chest of drawers that was made with very finely made, hand cut dovetails throughout (front and back of drawers). The crafstman did an outstanding job, but over the years, the drawers have sagged about 1/8" in the carcass due to wear on the support rail and drawer bottom. The UHMW tape is certainly not in keeping with the historical integrity of the piece, but does not alter the piece in any way, and can easily be removed should a future owner want to "repair" the piece.
Regards,
John
Turtle,
There is a product called "Slipit" that I bought at Rockler or Woodcraft. It's about $10 a pint and is sold for wood on wood and contains no silicone. That's another option to the tape.

Thanks for all the advice now, what does HMLV and UHMW stand for in regards to the tape?
Thanks again turtleboy

the main site: http://www.smallparts.com is clunky but they have some cool stuff. You can order their catalog online.

A solution that works for squeeking floor boards is to sprinkle talcm powder into the joint. The talc lubricates the joint eliminating the squeek. It's worth a try.
