Stained bedside cabinets

I have mahogany bedside cabinets that have white stains on the surface.

Is ther a way of treating these surfaces.

I think they are laquered.

The best solution for water marks on lacquer that I've found is to wipe them with a cloth just dampened with denatured alcohol.
