I just bought a cherry dresser – Yutzy, in Retreat Cherry with Acres stain. Pretty much of a dark stain, which is OK, but it doesn’t have that classic red look. I would like to have a redder look. I know that cherry, even if stained, will get darker over time, but can I expect it to get redder?

I'm a hobby woodworker and have only built a few furniture items from cherry. It's been my experience that cherry gets more brown with age and the red tones become less noticeable.
I'll be interested to see the opinions of those who have lots of experience with cherry.

Is the dresser cherry? Is the wood unstained on the inside? Because sometimes the label says cherry, but it's only the stain color.
I wouldn't count on it aging the way cherry would if it was unstained. My guess is it's going to stay the tome it is now.
Yutzy woodworking uses real wood for their cabinets on "all tops and sides". They are otherwise quite modern. Drawers are on metal slides but are dovetailed etc. They have a system where you order the species of wood and the finish and the cabinet etc. and mix and match at will. Reminds me of a kitchen cabinet factory but with real wood and more traditional designs. Not the most traditional joinery or construction methods though. No shellac, hand saws or planes but 2 sprays of cat lacquer, CNC and timesavers etc. Looks to be quite nice and well made factory furniture. Sort of like Ethan Allen but not as posh and without the history and with a more limited selection. I would not expect their finishes to change much over time and would not expect an increase in red tones.
+1 with JC2. There is not a tree species I know of named "retreat cherry"... that's from the label on the can. If the dresser was made of solid cherry they would probably not spray it with stain to that degree. You're looking at a paint job, it will not change color much over time.
The dresser is solid cherry. IDK why, but some wood is designated "retreat" at Yutzy - for example, they have white oak and retreat white oak. And then it was stained, a nice but not particularly red stain they call "acres". I've seen the results of unstained cherry when it has aged, which is amazing. I was hoping that would happen with my dresser over time, but maybe not.
