Just completed chest on chest made out of mahogany. Wil be staining peice and spraying lacquer. WEb frames and internal structure of cabinet made from poplar, back and drawers made out of maple. When staining is it proper to stain the inside of cabinet(poplar) or should this be left natural color. Same question about the maple back. Should this be stained??

I don't know what is "right" but I do not stain the inside or back of my furniture. I do want to seal it, and found that it is easy to keep spraying while I do the lacquer on the outside. Even use lacquer on drawers - the smell is gone long before anything is put into use (unlike oil finish).
