Hi, guys! Been out of the woodworking hobby for several years (building a street rod) but am ready to get back into it. Moving the rod to the garage and getting ready to set up the shop for woodworking again. I want to tune up all of the stationary tools as I place them. My question is, is there a good book that covers the tune up process for these tools? Also any tips on placing the equipment for optimum use of space. I have a 24 ft.x 36 ft. shop. Am setting up for general woodworking. Also, I have ordered a General model 50-260 cabinet saw(site unseen). All of the feedback on the forums was favorable. If any of you have this saw any advice on setup would be helpful.

Hi Crafty,
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but Amazon has a book that covers a range of equipment. Here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/55u46
Of course, the best bet is the equipment manual itself. If you don't have all of them, try searching online.

Care and Repair of Shop Machines by John White, Taunton Press, ISBN (hmmm, lemme get my glasses), 1-56158-424-X. Probably available through this web site or Amazon.

Anything at this site is worth reading...
I second the recommendation that Forest Girl gave you. "Care and Repair of Shop Machines" is a great book. It lives in my shop instead of on a bookshelf in the house!
I especially appreciate the way the author replaces expensive gadgets with shop made, common sense items.
