I was antique shopping with my wife last week when I came across a Stanley No 113 curve plane for $45. I was excited for a such a find especially for the price. I’ve been trying to date my plane and it has all the markings of a Type 1, including the patent date on the dovetail. But from what I’ve read, the type 2 has the adjustment wheel with 4 holes. Could this still be a Type 1 Plane?
Thank you! Richard

Based on the link in _MJ_'s comment, it looks like the circular plane.
Thank you. You are correct. I did more digging and the #113 I have is not a Type 1. There is inconsistent information in the internet, which is no surprise. But I was able to confirm two unique characteristics that define a Type 1. The first is there are two screws used to fasten the chip breaker to the blade. The second is the dovetail at the bottom of the plane extends out and is slightly cut away to allow clearance for the gear. The dovetail is flush from Type 2 onward. I have neither of these features.
