I’m finally getting around to cleaning up and tuning a #45 I picked up at an auction…But the fence doesn’t line up parallel with the skates. Any idea how to adjust this? Is there any other way than to plane down the fence on one end?

Get a straight edge and insure the pins are straight .Then insure they are perpindicular to the body and the guide. Are the holes too loose?Having done all this make sure the play in the assembly is not the cause.Had a number of 45s and never saw this problem.Make sure the wood part ts properly attached.Good luck
