Have been making an inventory of my workshop and the tools in it, photographing each and trying to estimate the worth of each. In the end I will have a DVD that can be stored offsite for insurance purposes.
Over the years I have purchased antique tools, with no particular method in mind; however, quite a few have accumulated and I am trying to at least establish a price on some of what I feel are the more expensive ones. Attached are pictures of a Stanley 55 plane and cutters for it.
What are these planes selling for today? Some of the devices I have collected are very old.
Thanks
Moksha

Depends entirely on how many of the bazillion pieces it came with that you have -- and the overall condition of all of them.
Here's a link to a thread in which i asked for sources to find prices for some tools i had to sell, including the Stanley 55. 29390.1 There are a lot of links there to brokers in such things, so you should be able to detemine a price depending on condition of the plane and cutters.
Moksha,
Try this link to Ebay. They have about 50 Stanley 55's that sold over the past month. http://collectibles.search-completed.ebay.com/stanley-55_Carpentry-Woodworking_W0QQcatrefZC5QQfbdZ1QQfclZ3QQfisZ2QQflocZ1QQfposZ45150QQfromZR14QQfrppZ50QQfsclZ1QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQfssZ0QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQnojsprZyQQpfidZ0QQsaaffZafdefaultQQsacatZ13870QQsacqyopZgeQQsacurZ0QQsadisZ200QQsargnZQ2d1QQsaslcZ0QQsaslopZ1QQsofocusZbsQQsorefinesearchZ1
