I am going to try bending for the 1st time and need a flow chart of sorts. After steaming how long approx. do I wait before glue up? Completely dry or partial ? Am working on a miniature project right now & want to bend some thin basswood. Good or bad choice ? Do you glue up a couple of pieces at a time or a bunch at once? Thanks for any advice that anyone has about this.

PMBI, but hey, very useful -- thanks! My goal is for my work to outlast me. Expect my joinery to get simpler as time goes by.
While basswood is considered a hardwood, it is too soft to steam bend very well. Woods that are lightweight have too much airspace in their structure which allows the cell-walls to deform rather than have them slip by one-another.
Be sure to read the booklet from the link above before you try this.
Thanks gentlemen--saved me alot of grieve.
