So what about this?
It’s marked RECORD MADE IN ENGLAND, and on the other side it’s marked No 07. All steel, no wedges or irons and the spur on the side is also missing. Parts? Offers?

I'm afraid you haven't got much there. It's a rabbet(rebate) plane similar to the Stanley #78.In addition to the iron and lever cap you mentioned are missing, it is missing the adjustment mechanism and fence.
If you can find someone that needs just the body, you might offer it to them. Otherwise, it would be too difficult and expensive to put together a complete plane if you have to buy the missing parts.
Hope this helps.

A fairly common plane, easy to find in useable condition. Yours wouldn't be worth more than a few dollars, if that, to a knowledgable buyer.

Hi Rick... I'll go in the oposite direction. YES, it looks like a copy of a Stanley #78. If you can find someone who has a complete #78, try swaping the missing parts onto the Record body, just to see if they fit. If they do, find a local antique tool CLUB and see if someone has your missing parts that they will sell you at a reasonable cost. It is a handy plane to have in your arsenal of tools.

Thanks Guys
I've just seen it on-line illustrated as a Duplex plane, 78 or 788. Clearly missing all of the detatchable parts! It's of no use or value to me, I'll probably put it in a job lot of bits and pieces and find someone to give it to!
