I am looking for information related to an Italian brand of woodworking machinery named Steton. Someone here in NC is selling a jointer/planer combo machine and I’d like some background of the company, if it still exists or is operating under a different name, parts availability, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know a lot about them but I recall there was a dealer in New Hampshire years ago selling but I haven't seen them listed for years. The listing of Steton machines was pretty extensive from slidimg tablesaws to slot mortisers and planers and it looked like good heavy stuff. If you don't have experience with discontinued iron look for tools that are still supported. We've got some Italian tools in our shop and by the time I try to order the part in I've had it custom made by a local machine shop and cheaper as well. I'd certainly consider the unit myself but then again I can deal with the repairs without factory support.
