on the subject of stickers for drying lumber i can purchase yellow pine stakes 3/4″ square 48″ long from any surveyors supply store. they are called flagging stakes and are very reasonable cost wise 50 stakes for 22 bucks i am in the south but am sure stakes are available in all parts of the country

One of the things that makes yellow pine good for surveying stakes is that their high pitch and sap levels protect them from elements and rotting in the ground.
However, the pitch and wet nature, would be big detriments to using them as stickers. I doubt they have been dried to the level that you would want for stickers.

There seem to be some conflicting opinions about pine.
