I need to stack some cherry to dry and need to know what is acceptable to use as stickers. I have some left over plywood (3/4″) scraps, can I use this? If not, what would be suitable? Do the stickers have to be
dry wood? In other words, what about green wood (like the scraps of cherry left over from the sawing process? What about 2X4’s scraps ripped down?
Thanks in advance –
Matt

Any wood or plastic sticks will do. It is best to have them dry and clean. Plywood is not used commercially because they would break too quickly for their purposes.

Don't make them too wide, an inch or two is fine. Otherwise, you're providing a place for moisture to collect.
