Any recomendations or experience with different Stickley finishes would be appreciated. Its for at bed (Prairie Post.) Finishes have allways been a little illusive to me and if anyone has some good starting points it would save me an enormous amount of time on test pieces.
I’m leaning away from fuming but would like something dark but not too dark. Also it is very important to me to bring out the ray flecking of the QS White Oak. Right now I’m thinking of a Oil and stain with a laqure top coat but have no ideas about colors.

Interesting enough, fuming was chosen partly because it de-emphasized the fleck, rather than making it stand out.
The best schedule for mission finish that I have seen is one devised by Jeff Jewitt. It may be found as an article on Jeff's website http://www.homesteadfinishing.com .
Whatever way you go, good advise still doesn't substitute for making test pieces. Someone else's vision of the ideal finish just may not mesh with yours.

gcg,
My Stickly furnature is Mahogany in high gloss #7 finish.
This pertains more directly with the current Stickley Mission Finishes
