Put a freshly sharpened blade on the miter saw and it screams like a banshee!
Is there any way to cut down on this howling, actually more of a piercing ring.
Thanx in advance

Do the expansion slots have copper plugs in them?
Mr T:
Are you using the right blade? I've used freud blades before and they are much less noiser than other blades. Freud blades are laser cut and have expansion slots for reduces noise, and they also have a perma-shield coating for less drag and better cutting. They make Debalo blades in 10 and 12 inch for your miter box.
PS. If you have a sliding saw, make sure you are using a NEGATIVE rake blade.
Good luck
Mr T
May be an obvious question but was it howling on the same saw before being sharpened?
Don
Hi Mr T,
I have a screamer blade as you described. It gets muted somewhat with a blade stiffner. Still can't stand the high pitched noise and parked it in the blade holder. Dosen't make any noise there.
Benny
Place some tape over the slots to see if the noise level drops. If so fill the slots with silicon. Its most likely the wind whistle getting to you.
