For those of you who use a cross cut sled, how do you store it when not in use? I have thought about hanging mine on hooks (I’ve got the wall space and this is the easiest way for me) but I wonder if hanging it will cause it to go out of square. If you do hang it, do you hang it from the side, front, back… Maybe I’m thinking too much here. I would appreciate your input and experience. My jig is made from 1/2″ baltic birch, a 2″ thick MDF fence and 1″ thick MDF front brace. The brace and fence are glued and screwed to the base. Thanks for the help. Tom

I just bore a 3/4" hole in the side and hang mine on a peg on the wall. Its the shortest side and takes up less room. I haven't had any troubles with it getting out of square (well not from just hanging).
I leave mine on the table saw and only remove it if and when I have to use the T.S. without it. This also keeps me from using the T.S. top for a work surface.

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

John, Thank you for your reply. Attached is a picture of my latest project.
I am currently revising the design of "Jake's Chair" to make a "Jake's Chair Glider". More to follow when it is finished.
I have a bit of 2x4 screwed onto the wall that I rest the back fence on. A large hook normally used to hang a bicycle is inserted into the wall right above; a twist and it secures the sled onto the 2x4 shelf (the hook tip has been adjusted to just meet the sled bottom, pinching it in place).
I just built a little rack which allows me to store mine, tipped against the legs of and under the infeed table of my DeWalt thickness planer. I don't have wall space to spare.

I put mine on the garage floor, being careful to put the steel bar near the concrete so it gets rusty when my wife drives her car into the garage with 6" of snow on it.

Drill a couple of holes in the base 2" from the back end (side nearest you) and hang from there - that will not stress the frame and cause it to go out of sqaure.
