I wonder what methods people use to straighten boards? I am talking about, in a horizontal plane, a side to side bend, not a twist. I ask this because, I only recently got a jointer, and always used a sraight edge and table saw. Is this “the way”, or is there something eaiser, better? Even though I now have a jointer, I still use that method when the bend/curve, is over 1/2″. Am I missing something?

Pedro,
If it's a minor side-to-side bend (less than ½"), I use a jointer or try plane; otherwise, it's use a straight edge to draw a cut line, a rip saw, and a hand plane afterwards.
(Yeah, I know, that's doing it the hard way.....) ;-)
