Use denatured alcohol for shellac. It is much less work. For a stripper get the can that is the heaviest--it will contain the most methylene chloride--the active ingredient for stripping.
*blackwelder,There are many types of strippers, not all contain methylene chloride. I did a search awhile back and found this post to be most helpful, click on this: Danford C. Jennings "Finish restoration" 4/12/01 2:00amJames
