I’ve been offered a 48″ Woodmaster Stroke Sander for $950. The machine seems to be in great shape from the pictures. Any thoughts on what kind of deal this is or isn’t? It’s smaller then I was considering, but I’ve never used one, and maybe I should get my feet wet on a smaller machine. It’s also a day’s drive away. Thanks for any advice.

That's a pretty small one as it is. Seems a bit high priced but I'm more used to industrial stuff which is usually priced cheaper overall. I was just looking at a Wysong and Miles stroke sander for $1,200 from a dealer but smaller single phase stuff usually gets a higher price in general so it's probably an ok price. I think you will find more stroke sander users at the industrial forums like woodweb.com
