I want to build two students desks for my Grandsons, I would like to build something with a little more storage than a library desk and I do not want to build a plain jane computer desk.
Have any of you gentlemen built or come across the plans for such a desk.
Thank You
Larry

My young granddaughter and grandson needed a desk for computers. There is no room for a big desk, so I found a Trestle Worktable in Nutting's Furniture Treasury that would work. It is pine, lightweight, and with one drawer. I am fixing a sliding computer keyboard tray underneath the drawer, so this will allow pulling out the keyboard and be comfortably positioned. Nothing "plain Jane" about this one.

I've designed and built several computer desks and am here to tell you that there's nothing "plain" about them - particularly if you're trying to make it look like it isn't just a computer desk. - lol.
Pull-out printer drawers, computer drawers, and keyboard/mouse trays can get interesting. Adding internal spaces for modems, plug strips, and cable routing just adds to the fun. Oh yeah, don't forget ensuring plenty of air circulation for cooling.
Quite frankly, I can't imagine a kids desk that wouldn't be designed for some kind of computer. If they aren't already using one they will be long before they outgrow the desk.
