Suggestions for things to make with 3/16″ bandsaw blade
I purchased a 3/16″ bandsaw blade for a specific task (small reindeer) and I really like the versatility and the ability to scroll with a Carter guide. I’ve previously only ever used my bandsaw for resawing.
Does anyone have a suggestion for things to make with such a fine blade? I’m thinking Christmas decorations or toys.

Look into boxes. I'm sure a youtube search for bandsawn boxes will keep you busy until Spring.
A bandsaw is a versatile machine, but needs a lot of blades to do all tasks, not only in width but number of tooth per inch and kerf width, tooth shape and blade/tooth material also are specific to a task. So roll your 3/8 inch blade for when it will be required and keep adding blades . I have all width from 1/8 to 1 inch and different tpi and materials, and of course, the general purpose worn blade to cut scrap and firewood.
I use a 1/2 inch for resawing and straight work, and use a 3/16 for pretty much anything curved. On rare occasions I'll pull out the scroll saw, but that's probably the least used tool in my shop.
Thanks to all for your responses. My first blade was a ¾”, the largest to fit on my Laguna. I resawed quite a bit of quarter sawn red oak from a tree that came down on my neighbour’s gazebo. My tree. Expensive.
I broke the blade and bought a ½” to do some gentle curves. Didn’t use it a lot but I could see it could resaw nearly as well as the wider blade. I bought a 3/16” to do finer work not knowing it was too narrow for the saw’s guides. Stupid. However, some research led me to the Carter guide which don’t use blocks, only a sprung wheel. I was planning to buy a fret saw but now don’t have to. The 3/16” blade now acts like a fret saw but with the benefit of the far more capacity of a 14” bandsaw. Love it and want to explore.
+1 on the boxes. Here’s a link to an old article on building bandsaw boxes..

Search Michael Cullen's articles for a bunch of nice ones too.
Thanks
