Hello All,
I know I’m not well known on this board but would like to ask for you prayers. Thursday 9/22/05 10:30am CST, I go in for surgery to remove my right Kidney, right adrenal gland and some of my liver and other abnormal tissue. Found a large mass encasing some of these areas about a month ago and hoping that all will be well.
Mainly hoping that I can continue being part of this forum and getting to know many of you better and learning more about the many things we all do with wood. God Bless to all of those that have answered my stupid questions as they have come about and live long and prosper. Thank you, LOL!!!! the Spock thingy LMAO!!!.
Hope to read up on all thats going on soon.
Sincerely,
MIke K
P.S. now on no water or anything else for the next 15hrs or so before the GUT me like a fish,
Man I’m thirsty. LOL

You have our prayers and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. When I joined the zipper club in 2001 they suggested imagining myself floating down a river on a raft with the doctors and nurses watching out for me and to imagine my family and friends waiting for me at a beach down the river a ways. It helped, as I think any positive images you can keep in your mind.
You will be back to answer the stupid questions of the folks that come along later. Except you know the deal; there are no stupid questions;) Hang in there you will make it!
Hello Everyone!!,I'm am totally overwhelmed at the wonderful support from all of you. It really lets you know that people do care. I'm almost in tears as read all of your well wishes. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and thoughts. My surgery went well. Took longer than expected and dammit they had to gut me like a fish, LOL:)))) oouch that hurts. As far as all abnormal tissues go, everything has come back benign and all was removed that was expected and no suprises so far. Still waiting on some small area reports but the Drs were very confident that they would also be good reading as well. I just returned home today and that is the greatest feeling in the world to be here with familar surroundings and also finding out how many friends you really have. I still think I needed a day or 2 more there but you know how Insurance companies are about hospital stays.I am able to get up for short periods of time and I know that will increase as the days and weeks move along. I'm finally going to catch up on some of that reading I have been wanting to do. LOL!!I'll will be checking in on a somewhat sporadic time frame but I will be here. I'm so looking forward to getting my hands dusty.Again, Thank you all for your kind words, prayers and thoughts and God bless you all.Sincerely,

Very happy for you that it went well! Take your time getting back to full speed; I pushed to hard and wound up back in...I did not like that;)
Enjoy being home:)
MiKro, everything sounds real good. Glad to hear you're doing fine. I got your original post late, and figured I'd wait until you got back home. But that didn't stop my prayers for good news. Enjoy your recupperation, and make the most of it on that reading.
That's great news! Have a speedy recovery.

Great news Michael, my prayers are with you.
There's no place like home and to be with family and friends again, that's what life is all about. Besides a nice looking hand-cut dovetail joint.Look forward to talking shop with you again soon! You don't know me, but I'm Gary...the graphic designer
Mike, FG here wishing you the absolute best outcome possible. Take heed to the advice above and try to create a comfortable mental space for yourself. It scary as hell having surgery, but if you can feed on the support of friends and family and lessen the anxiety some, you'll heal faster and better. Looking forward to your return!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for putting me in touch with your friend with the moulder. I may go for it later. I am building a new shop and he had some good advice for me.
He told me about your surgery, you are in my families prayers.
Mike

MiKro,
The best wishes and prayers to you. Hang in there, trust your doctors and tell yourself that the procedure is going to be successful. Stay positive, it matters.
You'll be back here and back to your tools, too!

God bless you and you family...
Hope all goes well for you...
Always scary to let go of one's day-to-day routine in favor of some pricey guy with a sharp knife. But waking up to friends & family is priceless. And remember that these operations usually come with 'way more than 50% positive outcomes.I'm looking myself to do one of these majors soon. The alternates are grim enough for me to look past the present to the promised future, post surgery, and the even more painful reconstruction.Rocotoed-----------
God bless and a speedy recovery, my prayers are with you and your family,

Best of luck, MiKro. Get well soon.
Wish you the best and a speedy recovery. I'll say a prayer for you.
Best of luck to you ... I hope that everything goes well (especially the post-surgical pain ... may it leave you "quick as a bunny"!)
Best wishes,

Godspeed, MiKro.

I myself have had a long journey. Leukemia. (2) years and counting. I wish you the best of luck and want to let you know that there will be times where the frustration of not being your old self may get you down. Just remember your alive and you have friends here. Also learn to take pleasure in the little progresses. One nurse always told me "little baby steps". It's true. Make sure you let us all know how your doing as soon as possoble.
