I have used a card scraper on Sycamore and it is still fuzzy. It has a nice sheen but when one rubs one’s hand against the grain it still has peach fuzz.
Can I put on a coat or two of de-waxed shellac and then scrape it? I thought that this might stiffen up the fuzz so that it will cut.
