I just rebuilt my miter saw station. Lowered saw base to table top and got rid of the old raised fence. I am ready to install t track for stop block and want to insert a tape measure into the t track. I am using Incra’s double track system. I would like to replace their tape with a metal tape with left to right numbers on one side of the blade and right to left numbers on the other side of blade and 8′ long. First attempt did not go well. While I am waiting for the 1/2″ tape to arrive thought I would ask all you clever and creative folks for any suggestions. I could only get first try in 5-6″ then too much friction to pull it more. I’ll try some silicone next time. Any body done this or have recommendations? Thanks for any help,

Think I am a bit confused by your question - only ones I have ever used are self stick so just peel off the backing and stick them in place... Do have to make sure you clean the surface as well as possible with some solvent or another (Have used acetone or DNA in the past)
Thanks,I have the Incra track with a channel built in with their tape measure. Their tape is plastic, has small numbers, and only goes to 4 ft. left to right. So I was hoping to replace with R-L for left side of blade and L-R on the right side and to 8 ft with easier to read numbers
Looks like Kreg makes 1/2" wide self-adhesive measuring tape that is 12' long and available either L-R or R-L. Certainly what I would use!
Little late to the reply here, but I'm just doing the same thing as you.
Just picked up the Incra t-track plus, but I added on few of their lexan scales to the order.
My miter station has 8' to the left, and 4' to the right. The additional scales are not perfect since they come in 16" increments and you have to overlay them, but I think they will work ok and they fit to the track perfectly.
They have them here:
