Hi I have a model 66 powermatic table saw about 16 years old. With out the 8 1/2in. extensions on is about .017 dip in the top, worst place is across the back and left front to right rear, but I have a crown between both mitres and throat plate worst on left, can’t get Fine Woodworking cut. Your thoughts on taking top to a machine shop or any advice is welcome. Thanks Mike

Top issues on your powermatic tablesaw
Mike:
You may want to try loosing the bolts that hold the top to the base of the saw and recheck for flatness. It is possible that the top is deflecting some to match the base. If so, you might be able to shim the top as needed where it mounts to the base. Otherwise a machine shop may be your only quick solution. I'm curious, was the table this bad when the saw was new?
