Ok so I need a table saw for home and I’ve been looking around a lot. I’ve found 2 that are suitable for my current price range but don’t know which one I should choose.
The first one is a Jet model JTS-10DD for $200 (the seller says it’s “mint” but that has yet to be determined) with all original accessories on a Delta wheel stand approx 1 hour away from me. The only downside I can find about this saw is that it’s dado capacity is maxed out at 1/2″
The second option is a Craftsman model 315.228110 with a sliding miter fence for $275 It looks to be in good condition and is approx 10 minutes away from me. The only downsides to this one I’ve been able to find is that apparantly the motor lift threads strip out and the top is cast aluminum.
anyone with experience on either of these saws would be a great help to me!
Thank you in advance

Keep looking
My neighbor has a Jet, and it works reasonably well. The 1/2" dado limitation on the model you're looking at, however, would be a deal-killer for me. Similarly, the aluminum table on the Craftsman would be a pain. Unless it's anodized, you'll spend a lot of time keeping it waxed to avoid it marking your stock.
Thus, I would suggest that you keep looking. You could also use that time to save more for the purchase of a better saw. Note that a new Bosch bench-top saw can be had for less than $400 through Amazon.
FWIW, I'm still using a Delta contractor's saw that I bought back in the '70s, but with an upgraded T2 fence.
I ended up buying the JET saw when I looked at it myself and realized the specs I researched were wrong and that it would accomodate a 7/8" dado. Thanks for the advice.
Table saw
What is your budget for a saw? Are you solely looking for a used machine or a new table saw?. What size of material are you looking to cut on it.
Saw
My budget is essentially non-existant at the moment and I needed something that would cut a straight line for something I'm working on for family. I have (soon to be gotten rid of) a craftsman portable tablesaw (it was a gift don't judge me :-P) that was extremely good at screwing up lumber, realistically the only thing I use the saw for is ripping stuff mostly under 48" or the occasional sheet of plywood. I appreciate your response to my post.
Diret drive saws
I would be very hesitant to buy a small direct drive saw with the universal type motor. Those saws are not much more than a "skill saw" mounted under a table.
PASS on the Craftsman for sure.
Unless you do very small hobby type work you will be dissappointed in the future.
Direct Drive saws
I passed on the craftsman, Thank you for confirming my thoughts on that matter. I'm hoping that the direct drive saw will be more than a $200 work bench in the end, but thank you for the warning
I agree with your comments regarding these cheap light saws. I bought one as my first saw and have regretted it ever since. Mines a delta tabletop model. I now have a Unisaw as well, what a beauty!!
