I want to build a cabinet for my benchtop table saw and was wondering if anyone had any good plans that they have had success with. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Big D,
hen I bought my first weekend house the privious owner left a ±24" X 28" low table about 24" high with 4 legs and horizontal supports about 6" from the bottom and at the top. I slapped a piece of 3/4" plywood on top cut a hole in it and bolted the table saw to it. I used it for 3 different saws over the years and it now has the Dewalt portable on it.
When I moved I integrated it into a 7' X 8' work table. I have since replaced the saw with the Dewalt Hybred.
The small table worked fine since it was in a permanent location and I built extensions to both sides and out the back.
Hope this gives you some help

BigD,
The only plans I'm aware of are Norm's ...he built a portable for his table top to use on site. Slill sells a table that you drop in the table top...that might be usefull for ideas.
About three years ago I built my own...no plans...huge(5x7)...along with a home made fense using angle iron....it worked fairly well until it began to sag in the middle. If I were to do it again (which I won't) I'd make sure to put a bit more table top in front of the saw....the table tops only have about 6-7" infront of the blade...it would be nice to have more space when handling sheet goods and trying to line up with the fense. good luck
I think Woodsmith had a plan for that if my memory serves me correctly that looked pretty nice.
I was just in books a milion and one of the current mags had a plan. If you are close to a BAM, go by and check it out. I'm sure a B&N would have it as well. If I can, I'll go by this week-end and get the name.
Thanks for the ideas! I'll have to swing by B&N tomorrow and dig through their mags. I looked at Norm's last night and was considering how I could modify that to fit my needs. I liked Norm's with the wheels on the long end, that way I could stand up out of the way when I don't need it and it will fit nicely against the wall. My shop is small, so I plan to make it the same height as my bench so I can use that as my outfeed support.
I'll keep looking around and flirting with ideas till I find the one I like or just design it myself!

I don't have plans, but here are some pictures of the cabinet I built for my table saw. It was designed to fit the base of the saw and I use my workbench for an outfeed table. One compartment is connected to my dust collecter and the rest of it has drawers for 'stuff'. I'm sure you could modify it to work with a benchtop table saw.
