Hi,
I tried calibrating my table saw according to the instructions provided in the book “Care and Repair of Shop Machines” from John White. I verified my arbor flange runout and I measured distances ranging between 0.000″ and 0.005″. I’m wondering if it’s too much and if so, how can we get it flatter?
Is it technically feasible to get a perfect score at 0.000″ all around the flange?
Thanks for any additional info!
Benoit

Unless you have a $40,000 saw I would say it's fine. Even then I would say it's fine. I would just expect more from a Martin saw versus a Unisaw or whatever you have. Woodwroking machines don't have the same tolerance metal working machines do and those can vary a lot as well. There's special indicators for getting finer measurements as well.
No matter how perfect the arbor face is the blades are typically going to have some wobble anyway.
