I have a delta unisaw, I was wondering what maintenance is needed as far as complete cleaning of parts that are hard to reach without taking apart the whole machine. I blow out dust as much as possible but how to deal with the sticky dust that doesn’t blow out. Do I need to do a once a year complete strip down?

Hi David... Here's my 2 cents... I use a vacuum for most of the basic cleaning, then use an air duster AT LOW PRESSURE to get the stubborn clingy stuff to the bottom of the saw, and vac again. A friend came over with some sort of spray lube that serious bicycle people use on their bike chains as it does not gunk up with dirt and grime. I spray the blade adjusting gears/segments once a year and find it works just fine. Obviously, if the adjustments get stiff, a good air blast/relube is called for.
If you really want, you can move the saw outdoors, tip it on its side, and use an air hose (leaf-blower) to blow out everything. I don't see where this is really needed, but if it makes you feel better, do it.
If your saw has a magnetic start/stop switch, open the front of the box and blow out any sawdust that accumulates around the relay. THAT, I think is more important than cleaning out the machine itself.

thanks for the advice.
