I am looking to upgrade my saw. Has anyone had good/bad experience with powermatic or General? Will the General hold up?

You can't go wrong with either brand. Both are fine saws. I have owned a PM 66 for 10 years and have seen some in service for over 35 years. A very heavy well made saw. Really Delta, Powermatic, and General are like Chevy, Ford and Dodge, All perform about the same have the same quality, just different colors.
