Hi, how can I tell if my Delta 36-725T2 is right tilt or left tilt? I’m asking because I’d like to buy a phenolic zero clearance insert.
Thanks.
I tried to make one out of 1/2 MDF and if fell apart because it had to be 3/32 thin where it meets the tabs on the saw.

Stand where you would if you were using the saw, with the saw off, and blade raised partway. Tilt the blade. Does it tilt to the left, or to the right?
Hi, sorry it took so long. It tilts to the left so I reckon it’s a left tilt?
Yup
Thanks John.
Turn the tilt wheel. Really?
The best throat plates are either phenolic or solid hardwood, preferable quartersawn.
Thanks
Maybe this will help. I ran a 1970's Craftsman/Emerson for some time. I was able to put a rabbet around the outer edge of laminate flooring scraps to make ZCI's. The outer edge was quite thin. 3/32's sounds about right. I used the original to replicate the screw hole / slots. I did not duplicate the rear spring tab retainer but, never had any trouble using just the front screw retainer.
GeeDub, I still use a Rigid, which is also made by Emerson, and is basically a clone of the old Craftsman. I made a couple of stabs at making my own zero clearance inserts, but didn't do as well as you. There is just too much thin material, and it ended up pretty hinky. I've just bought the phenolic ones since. If the blade slot gets enlarge, I fill up the space with epoxy, and recut the slot.
