This is a general woodworking question related to the Table saw. What is the best product to use to remove rust from a ts, and what product should be used to maintain the ts top? Also, what care should be taken to store the table saw if it is not going to be used for a while? I have heard of wax paper and all other types of things. Please help me out with this one.
Thanks

After the rust is removed. Renaissance wax and a HTC tool saver cover.

Life is what happens to you when you're making other plans .
There are lots of good rust removers....WD-40, mineral spirits, Boeshield rust remover, etc. All work well with the help of scotch brite or sandpaper.
Boeshield T-9 tested best as a preventer, and I've been happy with it. I also like to add a coupe of coats of paste wax in addition to it.
Shamrock
Every few years I clean my TS top with paint thinner and then rub it with bees wax and buff it with a soft cloth. Hold on to the boards when you do rip cuts -- you'll be surprisrd how easy they slide!
P.S. Picture of my latest is attached.
