I use table saw sleds often but have trouble getting the back fence attached at a perfect right angle to the blade – – even with the use of a square.
Does anyone have any favourite tricks in squaring up the back fence to the blade or making adjustments after the jig has been made??

Just make the back fense adjustable. Assuming your sled is long enough so it hangs off the TS, drill an enlarged hole at the end of your fense through the sled and put a stove bolt, washer and nut on... The other way is to take a piece of angle aluminum, drill enlarged holes and attach your fense to it and the angle aluminum to the sled....

I agree with BG - adjustable is the way to go. If you're interested I started a thread on this that got some good replies, back on old Knots: 24857.1
