I need several wedges that measure 1″ wide X 3/16 thick end to 1/16 thin end and 5″ long. Kinda like conventional shims for a builder, only my shims have to be cut from exibition grade curley maple!?? My Fine Woodworking index of “ALL paper copy Issues that I own”, has lots of ideas for a band saw. I desire smoother cuts from my Forrest table saw blade for the wedges
Please help. Happy New Year.

combine and conquer
You could also combine the mini-taper jig Dusty suggested with the spacing jig used to cut thin strips, to make adjusting the fence for each wedge easier. The spacing jig is a laterally-adjustable block that rides in the left miter track, with a bearing protruding from the blade side. Slide it forward to set the distance to the blade, then slide it back, so it provides a reference point for butting the stock against as you move the fence for each new strip/wedge.
Rip the desired rough wedge on the band saw. Securely tape to one edge of the desired stock. With the wedge edge against the fence, rip a wedge off the other side of the stock. Remove the wedge, adjust the fence, and rip a 2nd wedge. The leading corner may want to pull away from the fence so use push sticks and extreme caution.
