I’ve been looking around for a table saw and found a Delta model 34-444 forsale with a side table and unifence for 500.00,
Also found a General 50 185m1 for 400.00, which would be the better saw for the money?
Thanks in advance!

Hi. No experience with the General saw. I have a Rockwell 10" contractors saw I bought in 1985, renamed Delta soon after, with 50" unifence, custom extensions with router lift. I replaced the stock pulleys with machined, and the belt with link belt. Use primarily Forrest WWII blades. Setup has performed excellently and durably. Has cut 8/4 woods with no problem. Dados well. Totally love the Unifence. Capacity, accuracy, ease of use. Constantly flip the fence with no loss of adjustment. One path to custom versatility is to machine custom wooden fences, use a slot cutter and they slide on to replace the aluminum fence. One best qualities of the Unifence, besides ease of adjustment, is the it holds adjustment amazingly well. Hope that helps.
