Table slides are installed with # 10 round head screws. Should the slides also be glued to the table top?

On many older tables they would use short pieces maybe 3 or 4" long of stock that had been ripped on a 45° as glue blocks , glued to the slides and the table bottom as well .

Would you recommend that Dusty? The table is 48" extending to 72" - by placing 2 - 12 " leafs in.
willy , Some table slides are attached to a base and some not , but never the less the screws that hold the slides to the table bottom are not that long , so in some cases the weight of the table slides is solely dependent on the short screws pulling in an away direction .
The glue blocks will help distribute the weight and prevent premature disembarkment .
