I was in a restaurant today and the tables had a very clear, deep looking finish. Looked like glass. Does anyone know what type of finish is applied that will provlde this look.

I'd bet this was polyester, which would be the finish of choice for really durable deep gloss table tops. Not even close to being something you can use at home or in a basic commercial shop.
