I’m in the middle of making our kitchen table and was wondering if putting an inlay on top would be practical. The table is 36 by 60 inches made of red oak. The inlay would be about 18 by 20 inches and about 1/8 thick made of maple and mahogany. My main concern is wood movement, I live in New England. Any coments please?

MAke sure that the grain of the inlay is running the same way as the table top is. That is all my advice.
