OK, my turn to ask questions. I’ve got to purchase one of those 9 inch tabletop bandsaws for a small toy making shop. Jet, Ryobi, Delta or??? I now that most of these units will only take a 3/8″ max width blade but I’m NOT doing resawing. Do any of them take a 1/2″ blade?? Most of the time it will have a 1/4″ or narrower blade as it will be used for a lot of curves. Thanks in advance… SawdustSteve

Hey, I've resawn 6" cocobolo using 3/16" Timberwolf blades. It was either that or change the blade - twice. The pieces I resaw generally aren't more than 2' long and generally just one at a time. Takes less time to use the blade that's always in there. For resawing lots of stuff I do switch to a 1/2" 3tpi blade. But, a 3/8" blade would do pretty well too. If it's a good blade.

Sounds like you might be better off with a scroll saw...just a thought...I've got a Delta 8" (NOT the 9") that has about five inches under the blade. Uses a 56 1/4" blade. Real nice saw for the money ($90 recond). I sure used it for a lot of stuff, before I bought my 14 Delta. Even has a rack & pinion adjustment for the blade guides. Kinda hard to find good blades though, and nothing sucks quite like a cheap BS blade.
