Best to not use tack rags at all under or between water based poly coats as they have a reputation for causing adhesion problems. It probably warns against using tack rags on the can.
Wet a lint free cloth with water, ring it out thoroughly and use that instead. Follow behind with another clean dry lint free cloth if you need to. I use this method quite often if tack rags are unavailable between coats of other film forming polishes and varnish too where tack rags don't cause problems, e.g., pre-cat lacquer, etc.. Slainte.
I think I can help if you want Curly Claro Walnut. I just had a piece that size but 3" thick on E-bay and no bids on it. I'm not into selling my cherished walnut but I had a tree milled 4 yrs ago and am selling a few pieces to offset some my cost and work to get it.
