Hi ‘All’!
I just wanted to say how good the triple book set is by Tage Frid – its quite possible to learn something new on every page – the DVD is a real pleasure as his hands seem to flow over the work, making it happen! I so wish I could have told him so; particularly his humourous ‘down home’ style of approach to design following the function of the object, containing a theme continuously shown in each piece.

I have the books from the original printing and use them all the time, book one is autographed by Tage himself. I spent a great weekend with him in the late 80's at a small seminar and learned so much. My scrapers are sharp because of his method, he was the king of practical. He did not worship tools, he just got the job done, belt sanders over hand planes kind of thing. I really envy those who studied under him at the RISD.
Hello there!
You see my log in is a tribute to Newyankee Norm! If I had met Tage as you did, perhaps it would have been Newdanish! (Norm came over to U.K. a couple of years ago, my wife and I drove to a woodwork show 300 miles to meet him - that's a long way over here! - got a signed book, too!) Recently a Grandad, I'm making a small chair for my grandson, Riley - hand tools, adzing, laminating/bending - the works! wish me luck - thanks for the reply - Newlimeyq;:)
