I have the Performax 10-20 and have used it a few times over the course of a year or so. Now, I have to admit that I am not the brightest bulb in the box. My wife is way smarter than I am, but on the other hand I am alot smarter than your average politician. So, I don’t feel too bad.
My problem with the 10-20 is securing the end of the sandpaper roll. Sometimes, after a few minutes of messing around, the end tab will catch on “something” the end-clamp I assume. And I am off to the races. But, last weekend, I will be damned if I could get it to hold the tab. In desperation, I even tried their wonder tool and got that stock in the locking device so badly, I had to use a hacksaw to cut it out! Now, I might have to add injury to insult and buy the replacement tool.
Now, I know that all of you are much, much smarter (and clever) than I, so please be kind in comments!
Does anyone have a photo of the side perspective so that I can at least SEE, what I am contending with. Perhaps, if I could see the locking device I would know where the paper tab should enter.
Help!

Been there, done that too. You have to be really careful on the final end of the wrap and get the paper into the right position under the clamp. I put a fold on the strip where in goes into the clamp, It helps get rid of the "bump" and also curl the strip so it can be directed into the right position. It takes practice ! Another 1 1/2 " of space on that side would have been nice, agree ?

So, if I read you correctly, the "end tab" goes in at a 90 degree angle? But, it appears there is a spring clamp there, a space too. Very confusing. And the manual is good for landfill or lining the bottom of a birdcage! Someone once told me equipment manuals don't sell the equipment, there is no motive for the manufacture to put any resources into them. Thanks,
Yes, it goes in @ 90degrees. I fold the strip at that point so it will lay flat on the drum. On the side of the clamp mechanism you will see 3 / 3/16 holes and above them the grip clamp and on top a rivit, the paper goes on top of the horizontal bar and the spring will be above the paper. You need to put a curl in the strip so it will coil counter clock wise inside the drum. Space is tight.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Thanks BruceS, I will check work on this and let you know of my progress(?).Richard
BruceS,
As they say in parts of this city, "YOU be duh, MAN!".
I did exactly as you described and it worked so well, I can't imagine why I didn't get (it correctly) the 90th time around! Guess, I couldnt see the forest for the trees.
Thanks again,
