I am planning to make a tambour door that is to roll down over a desk.
I have a general idea how to go about it but is stuck on what sort of fabric i should glue the slats to.
Some articled i have read says soft canvas others suggest regular tee shirt fabric.
Any suggestions?

Stig,
What you want is a cotton canvas fabric called "duck".

You need a fairly heavy fabric, one that will stand up to the flexing and one that won't stretch. A heavy canvas is often used. I've used heavy canvas binding strips apox 3" wide. Some will cover the entire back of the tambor, others will use strips. I did a hoosier cabinet 30 yrs ago with two strips. It's in my kitchen and gets used everyday.

Thank you Ray and Hammer.
I'll give it a try - duck canvas it will be.
