I’m trying to post a picture ofthis little Tansu style chest I made for my Japanese-American mother-in-law.
The construction of the case was easy, but what makes the project so nice is the great wood, and the hardware really sets off the color of the bird’s eye maple.
Finish is just Danish oil and wax
thanks for looking

Mark,
I like it. Great job, nice wood, nice grain. Lots of hardware for a piece of its size. I'm sure she'll like it.
That is a real eye catcher! What are the dimensions, are the top units doors or drawers? What does Tansu mean and what would the chest be used for?
Thanks for sharing.
Very nice job matching the grain, Mark.
Thanks for the kind words.
Tansu is a type of a Japanese chest. Most of them are in the Step style to fit under a flight of steps inside a house.
The rough dementions are about 14" tall, 12" wide and 7" deep.
