There are a couple of books you might look at to get ideas on building tansu chests. Neither are plans books per se, but should be helpful. The first is JAPANESE ANTIQUE FURNITURE by Rosy Clarke (ISBN 0-8348-0178-7) published by John Weatherhill, Inc. in 1983; paperback. The second is TANSU: TRADITIONAL JAPANESE CABINETRY BY Ty & Kiyoko Heineken (ISBN 0-8348-0162-0) Weatherhill, 1981; hardback. Both books have good bibliographies so you should be able to come up with something. Good luck.
