I was looking at a very old back issue of Fine Woodworking (#40 from 1983) the other day and saw an article about Taos furniture. This was my first encounter with the style, which apparently is influenced by Stickley and the four corners area of the U.S. I searched for a book on the style but have come up empty. Does anybody have any recommendations that Google doesn’t know about?

There is a book, "New Mexican Furniture" by Taylor that's pretty decent. "Furniture from the Hispanic Southwest" by Wroth is worth having. Both are available used, and pretty inexpensive.
Thanks! I will check it out. Happy New Year!
I seriously love looking at this kind of book, even if it is old. I found a copy at Thriftbooks.com.
Huh, really interesting
Spanish influence in New Mexico goes back to the early 16th century. There were communities basically cut off from the world for 3 centuries. I doubt that Stickley had much of an influence on "Taos" style. Now,the other way around....
This by the way is an old thread I just noticed.
Ummm...ok.
