i have a teak hall bench stained walnut brown (not my job). the finish was somewhat cloudy when i bought it, especially on the turnings of the front legs. i applied paste wax over top of the finish and buffed it, hoping to eliminate the problem. if anything, it has worsened it.

what should i use/do to strip the existing finish (wax included)and what should i apply to bring out the lustre of the wood?
