Do you know where I can get “T” slot material for my shop? It is hung horizontally for hanging things on the walls.

Slatwall is widely used in making retail displays, so you might look locally for a place that makes retail displays, or sells materials to shops that make displays. Online, one source is http://www.outwater.com. They've got aluminum, plastic of several sorts, melamine, and various shelves and brackers that hook into slatwall.
Look under "Display" in the yellow pages, try to find a place that sells used slatwall. It's much less expensive! Hopefully you are near a major metropolitan area -- that's the place to look.

Tim,
If you know the owner of a local retail store, gift shop, whatever ask them to check their junk mail for display catalogs. We get them regularly but I have been cleaning out my office and tossed everything. The problem with ordering through them is the cost of the freight.
My local building supply can get the stuff but if you only order a couple of sheets they can't give you much of a break on pricing.
If you need a lot of panels you can get a router bit to cut the slots but it will probably cost you $30-40. With the bit, some good quality plywood and a simple jig you could make your own.
There I go being cheap again! ;=)
Tim,
Just got a new catalog from NCS in Santa Fe Springs, CA., 1-800-621-4118.

They have paint ready slatwall, MDF, 4X8X 3/8 for 37.95 per sheet, minimum 3 sheets, plus $25 crating charge, plus freight. 12 or more is 34.15. They also have melamine & oak veneer.
Sounds pretty costly to me. Good luck.
"costly" -- that's why I recommended getting it used from a display seller. I think we got ours (birch finish, light but not white) for about half that price, no dings or dents. Darned stuff is heavy!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Menards is a big home center in Wisconsin and they have started to carry it. Home Depot is across the street so they'll probably have it soon. Don
