I have this plane. Don’t remember where I got it from, maybe a garage sale. it’s been sandblasted and the front knob is missing and the casting on top is cracked off. The only identification is stamped into the blade. “L. Bailey’s, patent Aug. 6.67, aug 31.58 EX’D” I thought it might be from 1858 or 1867, maybe 1967 is more likely.

The date of the patent is 1867 extended from 1858 What you have is the remains of an Excelsior block plane manufactured after the marque was sold to Stanley.as you say front knob is missing, lever cap is broken and also modified with that long lever.You might part it out for a few bucks but that's about all.
