Yes, I know I can buy them, but I want to make them. I saw an article in one of my woodworking mags on the subject of making the templates. Can someone point me to the article? I’m having trouble finding it. Thanks, Roy

Do you mean Toombstone style? That was Mr Bird's article FW156, June2002. Part 111 Building a Pen. Sec.
Mufti, Thanks for your reply. The author of the article that I'm searching for went into detail about the calculations in order to lay out templates for an arched panel and rail. It may have been in Wood magazine, FWW or Woodsmith. I've got it, but still haven't located it. I have found http://www.josephfusco.org/Articles/Arch_Top_Doors/archtop_doors.html#Top
which may suffice if I don't find the article that I'm looking for.

FOUND IT!!! The article is in FWW, Issue #138 from Oct. 1999 and is written by Bill Ewing. The author describes how to make a jig that allows you to make the matching templates for arched raised panel doors. As in the initial post, you can buy these templates, but I'm a do-it-youself person.

Thanks for the info, memory is so very selective! I ought to scan the indices, then for FWW at least I should be reliable. Hope all goes well.
